Hey readers, bloggers and everyone else,

So in the summer time I usually keep pretty busy, most people probably end up watching less movies in the summer, well for me I keep an even keel all year around. In the summer I find myself so busy outside enjoying the outdoors that I tire out by 5pm and end up sitting on my couch watching “world premiers” of movies that were in theaters 5 years ago on TNT and USA.

So I got fed up with watching rerun movies on my TV. I went to On-Demand but at 3.99+ (meaning some are 4.99, 5.99 and 6.99!), I decided to skip it. Plus the selection is usually pretty slim pickings.

In the end the biggest thing for me with On-Demand is the pain of searching for the movies I want to watch, I hate the navigation using a remote control it is slow, verrry slow, like the 56k of TVs slow. So in attempt to not be 100% whine I have decided to write up some reviews of my experiences, qualms and loves of internet video on demand, or simply iVOD.

There are Several Main Areas I Will be Ranking Sites on:

1. Movie Selection – X/10 – The amount of movies they have along with the quality of content they have, all porn titles would obviously result in a low score of movie selections ;)

2. Price Structure - X/10 – The price of their movies depending on the content they provide. Some stuff is free, I am going to be a little biased towards the price structure of the blockbuster films. I will also mention here if they provide a free trial to their service, and if they do what I thought about it.

3. Quality of Movies and or the Player – X/10 – Do they offer High-Def downloads? Does it require a download or does the movie stream? Resolution the player can handle, and how happy I am with my overall experience from download to the rolling of credits

4. Look/Design and Userbility of their Web Interface - X/10 – How does the design look, are they stuck in the 90’s or breaking ground on website design? Was I able to navigate the site easily enough and get to my movie? Or did they lose me in fancy flash animations?

5. Other – X/10 – Here I will try and give a short pros/cons that are not mentioned in the other categories.

OVERALL – X/10 – An average of the scores, swayed slightly by the other category and overall user experience. So there will be a little bit of magical calculations!

The 10 Sites I Chose to Review and Why:

(Not the reviews, just why I picked them)

1. Jaman - This is a cool site that I first heard about on Digg.com.

2. NetFlix (VOD) - Two words, power house, enough said. Had to check these guys out.

3. HuluHeard about them while searching the web for  a certain TV show I love to watch.

4. ReelTimeHad picked up this gem through an article I read a while back online at NYTimes.com

5. iTunes StoreProbably bigger than NetFlix in reality, high expectations for these guys.

6. Amazon UnboxHadn’t even heard much about this really, maybe they should market it a bit better. Buddy told me about it last month.

7. VongoSaw a commercial for this a long time ago but completely forgot about it. Saw it again while trooping around writing this article and pulled an ohhhhh yeah….

8. MovielinkHad a reader send me this link sometime last year between a donut and a cup of coffee.

9. CinemaNow - Decided to write up a review on this guy because of how a many times I have seen it mentioned on a movie forum I tread on often.

10. ZML.comAnother site I found while researching for this blog :)

And one more for fun Joost -  Why not, this one is kind of a fun site. I figured I would stick to reviewing 10, but I saw Joost and couldn’t leave it out. The above are in no specific order. The bellow ratings are!
